The Odder Side is a Polish fashion brand that has gained international recognition for its unique approach to clothing design. It was founded in 2014 on the initiative of two friends who decided to create clothes that combine minimalist design with a touch of nonchalance – simple, high-quality, and comfortable. The founders’ first step was a capsule collection, which stood out for its minimalist style and attention to detail.
The Odder Side clothes are characterised by back necklines, simple cuts, and the use of high-quality natural materials. The brand also attaches great importance to sustainability, creating clothes ethically that meet the needs of modern women.
One of the key elements of the project was the migration of the store from the IAI platform to Shopify Plus. The process required not only the transfer of all data but also advanced features that allowed the store to be split into separate instances for different markets. Initially, four were implemented: European, Polish, American, and British, which allowed to better tailor the offering to local needs. The migration also involved a custom solution for synchronising product data between stores.
A custom application developed by our team of developers is also an important part of the project. It provides the foundation for the correct flow of information between instances of The Odder Side store, ensuring their full synchronisation.
Another challenge was the implementation and customisation of checkout.liquid, which required numerous modifications. As a result, the brand decided to consolidate operations and now operates on three instances, abandoning the UK market for a single European platform (.eu). The migration allowed the brand to increase operational efficiency and better adapt its technology to the requirements of a rapidly changing market.
The migration and development of The Odder Side platform resulted from close cooperation with the clients, who actively participated in the process, co-creating the final vision of the project with us. We were able to develop consistent solutions, and the graphic design was dynamically developed to meet the changing needs of the market.
In terms of technology, we created a lot of custom ways. We synchronised the core platform and Shopify theme between instances, which allowed us to maintain consistency while adapting local solutions such as payment gateways to the specifics of each market. We also expanded the integration with Przelewy24, which proved crucial to the smooth operation of the brand in other markets. Comprehensive integrations, data synchronisation and solutions to prevent overselling effectively supported the development of this e-commerce.
Thanks to the migration to Shopify Plus, The Odder Side store gained several advanced functionalities, such as improved filters, new ways to search for products, and more extensive and functional product pages. In addition, checkout has been enhanced with various extensions within Shopify Checkout Extensibility, including support for pickup points such as DHL or local order pickup points, and advanced promotion options – from the ability to add discount codes to automatic gifts at a certain cart value.
We also prepared modular editable sections that customers can develop and personalise on their own. Thanks to these measures, the store not only met the current needs of the brand but also became extremely flexible and ready for future changes.
The migration of The Odder Side store to Shopify Plus marked the beginning of a long-term partnership. After the first stage, we moved to an ongoing customer support model, where we not only respond to current needs but also actively support the development of the brand. In the course of our continuous cooperation, all views of the store have undergone a thorough modernisation – taking into account both comments, suggestions, and conclusions from audits.
At the same time, we carry out ongoing tasks, such as landing page design, implementation of new components, or optimisation of functionalities, which clients can use on their own thanks to our previous training.
As part of technological development, we have implemented tools such as Klaviyo, advanced analytical configurations using GTM, and customer events, which have greatly improved the management of marketing campaigns and the measurement of the effectiveness of activities. Dynamic changes in marketing integrations and successive implementation of audit recommendations have kept the store highly competitive and continuously improved its performance.
„Working with the mohi.to & WeCanFly team has been a rewarding experience for us. Their professionalism, commitment, and flexibility made the migration to Shopify Plus and the development of the platform smooth and seamless. The team actively supports us at every stage, providing us with technical support and implementing innovative solutions that perfectly meet the needs of our brand. We are very pleased with the results and look forward to further cooperation” – concluded Daria Żornaczuk, E-commerce Specialist at The Odder Side.
„Cooperation with The Odder Side has been an extremely inspiring experience for our team, thanks to the exceptional commitment and openness of the team on the client’s side. Together we were able to realise not only a comprehensive migration but also to develop modern, scalable tools that support the dynamic growth of the brand”– adds Michał Czaja, Project Manager at WeCanFly.
