PayPo integration with Shopify

PayPo is the leader of BNPL (Buy Now, Pay Later) services in Poland addressed to online stores. The company has been operating since 2016, offering deferred payments that allow customers to shop today and pay for it later.

Their application excellently combines two financial areas – payment and credit. By taking the best elements from both, PayPo has created services that facilitate purchases for target customers and ensure business clients can take the utmost care of their consumers. Over 1 million shoppers have already trusted the PayPo brand, and their services are available in 25 thousand online stores.

Brand's challenge

Our cooperation began like many successful projects in WeCanFly's history—with a conversation. PayPo found us thanks to our experience in creating applications for various payment products for Shopify, so we immediately knew how the cooperation would proceed and what its most important aspects were.

We were given one task: an application was needed that would allow stores operating on Shopify to enable PayPo payments. PayPo was a very decisive client, and their conviction regarding the technology was visible from the very beginning of project planning. This is how they recall the start of our cooperation:

"Deferred payments are becoming a standard among shoppers in Poland, which is why we want as many online stores as possible to have access to their quick and simple implementation, thereby meeting the needs of their customers. PayPo also means a higher value of purchase transactions and fewer abandoned carts, resulting in greater sales. Thanks to this cooperation and the creation of a dedicated PayPo module for Shopify, stores operating on this platform can easily offer deferred payments to their customers and benefit from the integration with PayPo," says Kamil Muratow, E-commerce Integration Specialist.

Our solution

We based the creation of the PayPo application on PHP using the Laravel framework, which was not chosen without reason. Laravel ensures development speed (thanks to intuitive syntax and rich documentation), security (procedures such as password hashing, protection against CSRF and Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks—all of which ensure high data protection), as well as modularity and scalability. From a front-end development perspective, we used React together with the Shopify Polaris design system. This combination of solutions provides us with a user-friendly environment with a visible settings screen for the user.

It is worth adding that the application has had an international character since its inception. In addition to the Polish market, it was also created for the Romanian market. It currently has two language and currency variants – PLN and RON. What did the activities for the Romanian version of the application look like?

"Shopify is an international store platform, present and popular also in the Romanian market, where we have been operating since last year. The natural decision was to implement the module in the Romanian market as well. Thanks to this integration, we will gain new partners who will be able to easily offer deferred payments to customers in their Shopify stores and stand out from the competition. The BNPL (buy now, pay later) solutions market in Romania is just starting, which is why we want to provide the largest possible number of stores with easy access to integration with PayPo, which will contribute to the popularization of our payment method among Romanian consumers," says Jarosław Kotelski, Project Manager.

Regarding the design, we used the settings screen, utilizing React and Shopify Polaris to create the views for the user.

Common results

The result of this cooperation is a small-big effect. We created the first deferred payment application for the Polish market on Shopify!

Previously, similar solutions were available within PePo and Przelewy24, but now PayPo can boast its own, separate application, which can be downloaded from the Shopify store via this link and installed independently in your store in a few minutes.

Our team

“Projects of this type are always incredibly developing for me.

Together with the team, we were able to participate in groundbreaking actions in the Polish e-commerce market, especially for Shopify. I thank the entire team for the great work on this project, and we wish PayPo further success in developing the e-commerce industry!“
